Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Thank you for considering the Midwest Leadership Summit! Here are answers to a few questions you may have.

Who should attend the Midwest Leadership Summit?

The Midwest Leadership Summit is for anyone looking to grow personally or professionally — regardless of your job title. We have attendees from a wide-variety of industries and stages in their careers. Since Central Exchange is a women-focused organization, we're frequently asked if other genders can attend... YES! Everyone is welcome for this inclusive event full of leadership development, growth, and inspiration.

Tell me about the Hybrid event format.

We understand that during Summer 2021, everyone will have different preferences for attending events. That's why we've designed the Summit as hybrid in person or online leadership retreat. Attendees may choose to attend in person at the Overland Park Convention Center. CX will observe social distancing and follow all recommended CDC guidelines. Or, attendees may choose to attend online where they will be able to view and interact with the inspirational content. Plus, all participants will have access to bonus virtual content. No matter how you choose to attend, know that we're carving out space to pause, reflect, and RENEW.

I'm interested in attending in person. What health + safety guidelines will be implemented?

Your health and safety is our top priority. If you are interested in attending the Summit in person, know that every effort is being made to create a safe environment.  Those precautions include:

  • Mandatory masks while not eating or drinking
  • Socially-distanced seating in breakout rooms and main room
  • Intentional traffic flow to reduce the number of people moving at one time
  • Grab and Go or served food and beverage only, no buffet style eating options

Additionally, the Overland Park Convention Center has achieved the Global Biorisk Advisory Council STAR Facility accreditation, the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation for facilities.  This ensures that the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention are implemented within the facility.

What are the takeaways?

The Summit offers inspiring content including keynote speakers, breakouts and networking opportunities to maximize your investment. Attendees speak to the inspirational content and ability to meet new faces as some of the highlights of the conference.

"It was all excellent. I feel very motivated and inspired because I attended. Thank you!!"

"Loved this day! Thank you for an inspiring, feel-good day!"

I'm interested in sponsoring.

Who hosts the Midwest Leadership Summit?

The Midwest Leadership Summit is hosted by Central Exchange. Central Exchange is Kansas City's first and largest leadership community for women. Our nonprofit mission is to connect and cultivate women leaders across generations. We hope you join us on July 29 to experience our 19th year of this inspirational event!

Do you have a nonprofit discount?

Thank you for considering the Midwest Leadership Summit! As a nonprofit ourselves, we know the Summit is a valuable development event for your teams. We do have a nonprofit discount code. Please email with your nonprofit information.

What recordings will be available?

All the keynote, breakout and bonus sessions will be made available following the event for a limited time. Additionally, you will have access to bonus virtual-first content.

If I attend virtually, will I be in the recordings?

Good question — no! While we’d love to see your lovely face, the recordings will be of the speakers and presenters only. However, you’ll have opportunities during the sessions to participate with others via chat.

Will I be able to interact with people at all, or is this a “sit and get”?

The Midwest Leadership Summit will be an interactive, engaging event. In addition to session content, online attendees will have access to chat and networking sessions.

What happens if I pay, and then I’m not able to attend at all?

Unfortunately, ticket fees are nonrefundable. The brightside to this hybrid event format is that if you aren’t able to “attend” on June 29, you will still have access to content following the event.

What is the last day to register for the event?

We’ve got you! The deadline to register for an in-person seat is June 18. However you can register up until the morning of the event, on June 29, for a virtual seat!

I’d like to send multiple leaders to the event. Is there a discount?

We'd love to have you join as a sponsor! View our sponsorship information on our website here There are also customizable group ticket discounts available. Reach out to for more info!
